Sales Area Manager
Description
Proactively contribute to the company’s results and business development by increasing sales performance and margins, identifying and attracting new clients, and maintaining and reinforcing existing client relationships. As Sales Manager, you will organize your actions around a triple frame strategy:
- Prospecting and New Business Acquisition
- Major Clients Account Management
- Opportunity Strategy and Market Intelligence
Responsibilities:
As the Area Sales Manager for WST, an Italmatch company in the Houston area, you will take ownership and full responsibility for all direct sales and business development activities related to specialty chemicals with a focus on oil and gas, specifically in the areas of stimulation, midstream, and production chemistries. Responsibilities include:
- Planning and preparing an annual budget for the assigned territory/customer base.
- Developing a clear and coherent business strategy in conjunction with the Sales Director for the assigned territory.
- Engaging in technical problem-solving and value-oriented sales.
- Coordinating technical seminars for customers and training for distributors in collaboration with the R&D and Technical Team.
- Managing a current customer base and focusing on organic growth through value selling.
- Representing the company at contract and sales negotiations, ensuring ongoing communication with your sales colleagues and management regarding equivalent products and applications globally.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in the chemicals industry
- 5 years of front-line sales experience
- Experience with chemical specialty products, particularly oil and gas-related chemicals across stimulation, midstream, and production chemistries
- B2B sales experience
- Willingness to travel 30-50%
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or other scientific discipline
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of the US oil and gas shale play with established industry contacts
- Experience working with chem/tech teams in E&P and/or hydraulic fracturing service companies
- Positive outlook with a focus on helping customers through a team selling approach
Languages:
- Proficiency in English (speaking and writing) is required.
Location:
-This is a Houston home office-based sales position. Candidates must be located in the Houston area with access to a major airport.
